THEORY

1.1. Panchamahabhuta

Lakshana (characteristic) of dravya – its numbers and types.

Lakshana and types of earth, water, fire, wind and ether.

Origin of mahabhutas and their internal assembling ( Parasparanupravesha)

Dosha

Detailed knowledge of sharira (body) Doshas.

Etiology, nature, properties, role, site and types of vata, pitta and kapha.

Site, qualities and role of doshas according to their sub types.

Dhaatu

· Rasa dhatu

Formation of rasa dhatu from ahara rasa. Function, site, quantity and properties of rasa dhatu. Symptoms of increased and decreased rasa dhatu.

· Rakta dhatu

Site and production of rakta dhatu. Description of raktavaha srotas. Signs of pure blood. Description of the functions of rakta dhatu. Signs and simptoms of increased and decreased rakta dhatu.

· Maamsa dhatu

Characteristics, properties, role and site of mamsavaha srotas. Signs and

symptoms of increased and decreased mamsa dhatu. · Medo dhatu

Formation, properties, function, site of medovaha srotas. Signs and symptoms of increased and decreased medo dhatu.

· Asthi dhatu

Formation, characteristics, functions of asthi dhatu. Relationship between vata and asthi dhatu. Signs and symptoms of increased and decreased asthi dhatu.

· Majja dhatu

Properties, function and site of majja dhatu. Signs and symptoms of increased and

Upadhatus

Formation, number and characteristics of upadhatus.

Number of ahara malas and dhatu malas. Formation, site and function of purisha, mutra and sveda.

History

Determination of vedic period, anaditvam (eternity) of Ayurveda.

Descendence of Ayurveda. Atreya Dhanvantari.

Great churning of ocean, manifestation of Nectar, manifestation of Dhanvantari.

Atreya and Dhanvatari schools.

Brihatraye and laghutraye.

Philosophy

Meaning of the word “Darsana” and its comprehensiveness. Origin, number and classification of Darsanas. Six Darsanas.

1.2. Introduction to pulse and tongue diagnosis. Concept of health and disease.

1.3 Dietetics and cooking
